Veronica Mars Movie Is Not Happening
By Kara Stanford-Jones
Earlier this year, there was talk about a Veronica Mars movie. The creator, Rob Thomas, was hoping to get the ball rolling, but it seems like it hit a dead end. This is a sad day for Veronica Mars fans. Creator, Rob Thomas, and Kristen Bell were on board and eager to do a film, but it seems Warner Brothers felt differently. Warner Bros decided there isn’t enough of an interest among audiences to warrant a movie.
Recently, Kristen Bell said about the possibility of a Veronica Mars movie…
“I don’t think it will ever happen, and here’s why: [Series creator] Rob Thomas and I had a powwow, and we were both 100 percent on board. We took our proposal to Warner Bros. and Joel Silver told us that there is no enthusiasm [there] to make a Veronica Mars movie, and that is unfortunately a roadblock we cannot compete with.”
I have never watched the series, but I have heard that some people really like it. However, if a series is canceled because of low viewership, it would seem like a bad idea to turn it into a movie. It is unfortunate that great shows are taken off the air, but rarely do they make it to theaters. The only exception that I can think of is the possible Arrested Development movie. If it makes you feel any better, movies based off of T.V. series can be pretty awful, at least you can still watch all of your favorite episodes.

The Series was so good, and was one of the best things I've ever seen on television. The biggest shame is that it was getting better ratings than most of the CW does now. People only talk about demographic and that kind of nonsense. We need to start having an ethic where numbers matter less and people matter more.
Veronica Mars Fans are some of the most loyal people in the universe, and we will keep trying.
