Carriers, both written and directed by Spanish brothers Àlex Pastor and David Pastor, was filmed in 2006 in New Mexico. The movie which stars Chris Pine, Lou Taylor Pucci and Piper Perabo is about four friends fleeing a viral pandemic on their way to a secluded beach in Mexico who soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.

Paramount has finally decided to release the film, which has been sitting in post-production mode for three years now, on September 4th. Sadly, with the delay this film does seem a bit dated. One wonders if they’re just hoping to cash in on some of Pine’s Star Trek success. The trailer doesn’t seem half-bad. Pine might have another mini-hit on his hands.

So what do you think, should Paramount have kept it on the shelves or released it three years ago?
