I really hate Hollywood trends, and death is one that continues to rear it’s ugly head. Several iconic entertainers have died within a weeks time and the list just continues to grow. According to Yahoo, actor Harve Presnell has passed away at the age of 75. A seasoned stage, television, and film performer, Presnell appeared in such productions as Annie and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. He was probably most recently known for his role as William H. Macy‘s father-in-law in Fargo, or his stint on the sci-fi TV series, The Pretender.
Presnell died on Tuesday in Santa Monica, California after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. Known for his musical as well as dramatic talents, the actor had an astounding voice which was his ticket into the entertainment industry. Some of his other notable films include When the Boys Meet the Girls (1965), The Glory Guys (1965) and Paint Your Wagon (1969). He may not have been the most famous or praised, but he was successful in his own right.
I’m going to miss this guy. I used to watch The Pretender, and I loved him on it!
