Guy Pearce Joins Del Toro in the Dark
By Krystal Clark
I was randomly thinking about actor Guy Pearce the other day. I was wondering where he’d been hiding, since I hadn’t seen him or his jagged cheekbones in a while. According to Firstshowing, Pearce may be resurfacing soon in a film directed by one of Guillermo del Toro‘s protege’s, Troy Nixey. The project is entitled Don’t be Afraid of the Dark and it’s remake of a 1970′s made for TV movie.
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is based on a 1973 telefilm about a young girl who moves in with her dad and his girlfriend, only to discover that they’re sharing their home with some “devilish creatures.” Pearce will star as the father, while his daughter will be played by Bailee Madison. Katie Holmes will portray his girlfriend who also believes that something eerie’s going on in their home.
The film’s script is written by del Toro, and should start shooting in Melbourne, Australia fairly soon. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark seems to be bringing everyone out of the woodwork. I’ll admit that this is an interesting cast to pull together. There must be something amazing about the script that makes them all want to be a part of it.
What do you think of Pearce teaming up with Holmes in a horror, thriller?

Guy Pearce has been very active.."The Proposition", "Factory Girl", "Death Defying Acts", "Traitor"..not to mention "The Hurt Locker" (which is out now) AND "The Road (which is coming out in October)..Plus "Winged Creatures" and various other projects his name is tied to (all coming out within the next few months)..So to ask "where has he been hiding" ..he hasn't
I am excited to see hin in a del Toro film it should be pretty exciting! I love both del Toro and Guy Pearce so this should be a very cool combo!
