Good review, I went to see it at Imax and the action was awesome on such a big screen. I highly recommend it – I saw it earlier on a normal movie screen and it just wasn't the same! So anyone in Melbourne who likes transformers, i suggest you check it out http://www.imaxmelbourne.com.au

totally agree with the review. So much stuff is thrown around and most of it is inconsequential. Nice to see certain decepticons show up (soundwave, ravage, devastator) but the lack of development of other characters means you end up with a lot of colour and noise but zero emotional investment.

By the end I just didn't care about Sam, The Fallen, Optimus returning (since you knew he had to, it was part of the friggin plot!) or Jetfire. And I really didn't care that they said 'I love you.' The could have used this to set the stage for the final fight between Optimus and Megatron in the third one but didn't give Megatron (or Agent Smith) enough to get going.

There were some cool action scenes and cheap laughs. 4/10 seems spot on.

I partly agree. You're right, too many robots and you don't even know who's fighting who. And now that I think about it, yeah, you never feel like the characters are in danger.

But I'll give it a bit more credit; this film is more than a bit funny, it's near hilarious (and way funnier than Harold Ramis' Year One) and I love Shia and Megan's love story and how they act as expected. Megan has and always acts very nonchalant even after she finds Shia in the room with Isabel Lucas, and Shia, always very funny and curious, blah!

I would give the film a 6.5 or 7, it was worth because it was funny and well, it's a robot movie, don't forget that. (Once McG is director of the 3rd one, we're going to wish Bay was at the helm of it.)

I agree with you the movie was one of the best movies I have ever seen and I would rate it a minimum 8/10 as well.

The only reason I was worried about the length was because I was holding my pee for about the last hour and a half. That being said, why did I not go to the bathroom? BECAUSE I WAS WATCHING THE MOVIE!!! Obviously the film critics are looking at the movie from a critical point of view. This was no Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's List, but honestly who expected it to be and, more importantly, who cares?! Summer fun: check; good action, good laughs, good times: check; Megan Fox still smoking hot: very much a check. And guess what, Transformers 3, whenever it arrives, will likely be more of the same. I cant wait.

the critic who wrote this reveiw didnt watch this movie but he was obviously more worried about his popcorn
the movie was excellent not boring or dull and i cant wait to see a number 3
maybe this so called critic needs to watch the movie for what it is not for what he wants it to be

wow whoever wrote this s totally wrong and was not watching the same movie!!!!!

Not at any point was this movie dull or boring, the length was great and made the movie mroe enjoyable

The more robots made this movie get away from having the same thing over and over again and its hard to have a large scale robot fight with only around 10 robots

this movie is at minimum a 8/10 and a must see
