Visual effects specialist, Charles Gibson is set to direct the family comedy, The Goblin. Gibson, who’s known for his visual effects supervision on big blockbuster movies such as Terminator Salvation and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, (for which he worked as an assistant director), will be making his big screen directorial debut with this movie.
The Goblin is about a suburban family that moves into its new home only to find a goblin who doesn’t want them there. The script is written by Geoff Rodkey and will be produced by Matt Berenson with Wind Dancer Film principal Matt Williams and production head Judd Payne. According to Variety, Williams says the main goal of the movie’s “about creating a goblin that will appeal to audiences of all ages.”
The Oscar winner’s track record has been good so far. Let’s see how he does when all the control is in his hands. It’s hard for some people to make the jump from one area of film to another. Everyone can’t be a jack of all trades, but we’ll see what he can do once The Goblin starts production.
