Three Screams are apparently enough for Neve Campbell, who is reportedly not interested in reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 4.

The next Scream is part of a new trilogy being developed by screenwriter Kevin Williamson. He revealed, rather succinctly, via Twitter news of Campbell’s decision to not come back for the next film:

Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks

Campbell’s no-show for Scream 4 may be in large part because of a busy work schedule; the actress is currently starring in a new NBC series known as The Philanthropist.

No doubt fans of the horror trilogy will be bummed about no Neve. I guess. Or, there’s a contingent of Scream buffs that would rather see the filmmakers just turn the story on its head and start fresh.

Perhaps, if nothing else, there’s a cameo Campbell might consider for the next Scream, a film trilogy that definitely put her on the map. Okay, and Wild Things.

But all is not lost. There is word that both Courteney Cox and David Arquette are in talks to reprise their roles as Gale Weathers and Dwight “Dewey” Riley, respectively.

The project could also see the return of director Wes Craven.

Does it matter whatsoever if Neve Campbell returns for Scream 4?
