Another TV spot has been released for the Stephen Sommer’s film, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. The movie opens August 7th and stars Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Sienna Miller. I wish I could say that I’m excited about this but I’m not. I’m pretty sure the studio is picking up on the general public’s lack of interest, because they’ve also put out five new promo posters for the film simultaneously.
Check out the video and the gallery after the jump.
The cheesy dialogue, bad special effects, and horrible armored suits have repelled me once again. And yes I did hear the infamous phrase, “real American heroes” strategically placed in there. Here are the five news posters for you to inspect, they feature Duke, Ripcord, Baroness, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow.

As you can see Duke is featured wearing the “super suit” that makes them look like human Transformers. I don’t like it at all. As you may have heard in the trailer when all else fails, they don’t but I’m not sure sure about that. This movie looks like an epic fail in my book. Excuse me if it appears that I’m being too hard on these guys, but G.I. Joe should be one of the easiest things to adapt, it’s based on the armed forces. Its not as if you really have to go above and beyond logic for the audience. They took something that could have been practical and great and made it campy and fantastical. When will they learn?
What do you think of the new posters and TV spot for G.I. Joe?
