Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to star in a yet-to-be titled project from Rounders screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien. THR posts that Paramount has picked up the scribes’ pitch, but all we know about the project as of yet, is that it takes place in the world of Costa Rica-based online casinos.
So far, we don’t really know much about this story, although by just looking at the basics it sounds pretty interesting. Koppelman and Levien are well-versed in casino-based projects (Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen) so it seems like this is a film that would be right up their alley.
It’s hard to tell about DiCaprio, because we have yet to hear anything about the story or what character he’ll be playing. He’s amazing everything he does, so I’m sure he’ll find a good gamble-addict, or something along those lines to play,
Personally, I would like the film to focus more on people involved in the online casinos, because it’s certainly an odd group of people to dissect.
Jennifer Davisson Killoran is set to produce the film. Killoran is about to release her first film, Orphan and have a number of others on the way.
DiCaprio will also be starring in the pairs’ Beat the Reaper, set to be released in 2010.
