First Photo of Mickey Rourke as Whiplash

Finally! We get to see a glimpse of Mickey Rourke in costume on the set of Iron Man 2. We’ve seen plenty of promotional photos and paparazzi shots featuring Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle and even Samuel L. Jackson, but until now we haven’t gotten a glimpse of Rourke. He stars as the Russian villain Ivan Vanko aka Whiplash, and he’s not a nice guy. Imagine my elation when I discovered that USAToday just released a photo of the actor “suited up,” and in character.

As you can see he looks all kinds of crazy in this photo, and that’s a good thing. According to director Jon Favreau his character “has constructed his own version of a suit (referring to Iron Man’s). The technologies are definitely related, and that’s part of the core theme of the film.”
He’s added a few things to his version such as, a pair of whips that are powered by the suit’s glowing chest piece. I’m sure you can tell that those whips are an important part of his character, hence the name Whiplash. Too bad we don’t get a good look at them here, perhaps they’re saving the big reveal for later in the year?
I guess we know why they were filming on that racetrack now!

The suit looks cool,but I don't think it'll pose much of a threat to Tony.One repulsor to the head and he's out.

Mickey's in good shape. He is not fat. Especially at 57! ( I think that's his age.)
