According to SlashFilm, Javier Bardem has joined the cast of Wall Street 2. He is set to star along Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf. Bardem is to star as an “evil hedge fund manager.” Without any doubt, Bardem can nail the part as the villain. Wouldn’t it be creepy if he played this character the same as his character in No Country for Old Men, except without the gun and weird haircut? It seems like he has a thing for crazy, evil character. Overall, the casting of this movie is pretty interesting. The three actors above all seem so different, it seems like it is all over the place.

The movie takes place in the present circumstances. The economy is in disarray and the government has bailed out major financial institutions. I don’t know why we need to be reminded of the current economic situation with a movie, but apparently we do! Maybe there will be a happy ending that none of us see coming.

The film is set to begin shooting in August with a February 2010 release date. That is a pretty tight schedule to shoot and edit a film. If this is true, they aren’t setting this movie up for success.

What do you think? Do you like Javier Bardem as an actor?
