  • Columbia Pictures will present, The Smurfs Movie next week in Las Vegas at the Licensing International Expo 2009.  The screenplay for the movie adaptation of the hit cartoon series was written by David Stern and Davie Weiss.   • Halle Berry is in talks to do a new movie titled, The Surrogate.  It will be the star’s first time back since 2007′s Perfect Stranger with Bruce Willis.  The new movie is about a couple who hire a surrogate to have their baby and mid-way through the pregnancy, they find out their surrogate is insane.   • Away We Godirector, Sam Mendes, will next work on the comic book adaptation, Preacher. The series told the story of a Texas preacher possessed by  Genesis, a supernatural entity that is half angel, half demon. (SuperHeroHype)
