G.I. Joe International New Poster

Stephen Sommers’ film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will hit theaters the weekend of August 7th and today Empire magazine released the films’ international poster. The poster is no mystery; right away we see who the good guys will be, and who the bad guys will be. Leave it to Sommers to tell you that red is ‘Evil [that] never looked so good’ and that blue will never fail you.

This action film stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nochols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid; most of which are shown on the poster.

In the film, the elite G.I. Joe team uses the latest in next generation spy and military equipment against the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the Cobra organization when they attempt to throw the world into chaos.

To be honest, I am not all that into films based on action figures, but Marlon Wayans? I haven’t seen him really act since “The Wayans Bros,” and I loved him in that show. I am actually excited to see him onscreen again as a more serious actor (not just a pothead in the Scary Movie series.) Based on the poster it looks like he’ll be taking a more serious role this time, we’ll see.
