Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reboot!
By Krystal Clark
I knew I wasn’t the only one who liked the 1992 film version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer! Both the movie and the TV series were great in there own ways, although for some reason the film has always been looked down on. According to RopeofSilicon, the remake machine is coming after Buffy, and wants to revamp her for the 21 century. Too bad according to reports creator Joss Whedon will be nowhere near the heroine this time around.
The latest jump into Buffy’s mythology is being described a relaunch as opposed to a sequel or prequel. The director of the first film Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband Kaz Kuzui are in talks with producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment to get the project off the ground. The new film will stand alone in the Buffy franchise, by having no connection to the TV series. None of the characters from the show will appear, which means no Xander, no Willow, no Oz, or Angel. They want the film to be “darker and event-sized.” They’re looking for this to be the potential start of a Buffy film series.
Is it wrong that I am 100 percent down for this? I never understood why everyone hated the first movie. I have it on DVD and still watch it. Sure it’s dated, but it was made in the early nineties. As long as they don’t choose someone I hate to play Buffy or The Watcher I’ll stand behind this.
What do you think of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot?

I am all for a Buffy reboot,,,,,, but it has to be done right!!!!!!!!! The only way to do it right is to have the man who came up with the buffy universe to begin with,, JOSS WHEDON!!! If Joss Whedon is not involved in this project it will be an amazing upset,,,,,, who am I kidding,, it will be a disgrace!!!

Buffy without Joss Whedon. The term "eccchhhh!" comes immediately to mind. May I be the first to dub this version as "BINO" (Buffy In Name Only) for purposes of pointing to it and sneering with utter disdain?

Maybe Pee-Wee Herman could appear as a different character in the Buffy remake. Maybe he could play Merrick. I thought that he was funny in the movie. I hope that Buffy is blowing bubble gum in the remake.
