Disney is back with an old school, 2-D, hand-drawn animated comedy, from the creators of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, Ron Clements and John Musker. The edge in this story comes not from the effects but a twist on a classic tale. What really happens when you kiss a frog? I mean, aside from warts? Just like in real life, things never turn out like you expect.

The colors and lighting in this poster are gorgeous. I love the evil villain lurching over them in dark purples and reds and the little smiling firefly in the front welcoming us. It’s obvious that Clements and Musker are masters of the animation art. They’ve taken us on many memorable journeys and not it’s time to go where no animation has gone before… New Orleans via magic frogs legs!

The film will be in theaters December 11th 2009.

What do you think? Are you ready for a good ol’ hand-drawn animation?
