More casting speculation is in the air regarding the Green Lantern adaptation. Rumors already have the likes of Ryan Gosling and Chris Pine in the running to star as the iconic character. We can now add another name to the list, because according to RopeofSilicon Bradley Cooper might be a possibility. They have sources that suggest the actor is in the lead to portray one of the most popular Green Lanterns of all, Hal Jordan.
According to the site Cooper has either already tested or will test for the role sometime this week. Green Lantern is set for release next year around Christmas, December 17th to be exact. Martin Campbell who directed the James Bond flick Casino Royale is already on board to direct. If your familiar with the comic, Hal Jordan is one of the founding members of the Justice League and the first earthling to be inducted into the Green Lantern Corps.
Bradley Cooper can be seen in this summer’s The Hangover, which I am anticipating to see. As far as the Green Lantern, the net is buzzing with his possible casting in the film. Yet, I have to take all of this in stride. There have been so many names thrown around, I don’t know what to believe. Granted Cooper does have the physical look. He’s 6 foot 1 and looks fairly fit. Do you know how hard it is to find an actor in Hollywood to believably play a superhero? I’m just having an issue seeing him as a comic book character. I would have to warm up to the idea.
Do you think Bradley Cooper could play the Green Lantern?
