US G.I. Joe Trailer Now Out
By sergiosoto
The US trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra was released today, and although my colleague had a few nice things when the French version (which is the same as this one, only with subtitle) I have nothing positive to say about it.
It’s got all the cliches and markers of an action movie, i.e. things blowing up, technologically enhanced people, attractive women, fights, skydiving, “actors,” ninjas, and every other over worked notion that comes with an action movie. This seriously just looks like a Steven Seagal movie with a budget. This sorry excuse for a movie was directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy Series, Van Helsing). Set for release on the 7th of August, I hope this movie tanks so that Sommers cannot pain us with these insulting pieces of garbage.
Watch the trailer below…
What can you really expect from a movie that is based off an action figure? That’s on par with the Garbage Pail Kids movie, and that one was based on trading cards.

that looked like a complete and utter "hot mess."
you've got a varied cast of characters generated by the 80s toy industry and the best you can do to add suspense is put them in exo-suits??
Why do they keep giving Sommers work? Why?!

"…a Steven Seagal movie with a budget". Sweet. Oh wait, you meant that as an insult.
