If there’s one thing we know Hollywood loves, it’s obsessed crazy women. This past weekend Obsessed, was released into theaters and came up as the number one film at the box office.

With the new movie doing so well, we thought it would be fun to look back at some of the insanely one-minded, overly-attached, and uncontrollably fixated women in film. Enjoy.

Here are our Top 6, obsessed ladies…

1. Wicker Park – Alex

Based on the french film L’Appartement, the story revolves around Matthew’s hunt for Lisa, who left him without a word. Sure it might seem like he’s obsessed, but his search would never have begun without the sinister intent of the “new Lisa.” It’s got a pretty good twist and the ending is actually a happy one.

2. Mommie Dearest – Joan Crawford

Based on the true story of Joan Crawford’s mothering techniques, this disturbing film shows how hard it is to be a parent, that is if you’re completely insane. Crawford’s fixation on beauty and perfection leads to something more damaging to the brain than any physical torture.

3. Fatal Attraction – Alex Forrest

Somehow, Michael Douglas always finds himself in strangely sexy situations that turn violent. Maybe it’s something in his musk that causes women to lose their shit and latch on. Whatever the case, this movie was released in ’87 and seems to be the plot that Obsessed stole from.

4. Ace Ventura – Lt. Louis Einhorn

I know what you’re thinking. “Finkel is Einhorn!” Which would mean that she is actually a he, but since that isn’t really known until the end of the movie, I think he still counts as an obsessed woman. The “kick heard ’round the world,” is the catalyst for this demented dame’s long-lasting grudge.

5. Rebecca – Mrs. Danvers

Mrs. Danvers is the house keeper in Mr. De Winter’s glorious mansion and she was very loyal to Rebecca De Winter, even after she died. This causes the Second Mrs. De Winter, who was never named in the book or the movie, much grief. This form of fixation is pretty powerful stuff, it’s as though Danvers serves the ghost of Rebecca. You can see, about 7 minutes into the video, just how catastrophic obsession can really be.

6. Misery – Annie Wilkes

Annie Wilkes is a nurse. She takes care of people for a living. And what luck for author Paul Sheldon, who just got into a car crash, and needs to be nursed back to health. it just so happens that she is also his #1 fan and would just love for him to stick around, whether he wants to or not. Makes sense.
