Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! I couldn’t resist, I had to say it like that. For those of you who don’t know because I sure didn’t, there’s a comic book named after that popular phrase from children’s classic, The Wizard of Oz. According to Superherohype, Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) has been tapped to produce a feature film adaptation of the comic. Essentially the story focuses on a group of stuffed animals that come to life at night, and protect children from the evils of the world. Intriguing or scary? You be the judge.

The main character in the story is a boy named Joey. We will follow him as he travels through the Stuffed Animal Kingdom, to come face to face with his destiny. Apparently, stuffed animals have been protecting children since the beginning of time and this comic/movie is out to prove it. Lions, Tigers, and Bears will be shot as live action, but will rely on CG for certain sequences.

This scares me on so many levels. I think all of us at one time or another thought our toys came to life at night, and it was terrifying. I can get down with kids stories and films like everybody else but this one rubs me the wrong way. Plus the film’s producer also worked on this summer’s G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and the CG in that thing looks horrible.

What do you think of a live adaptation of Lions, Tigers, and Bears?
