Good news for Potter fans! Warner Bros. had decided to move up the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by two days! Maybe, they heard about Star Trek moving up their release date by 5 hours and decided they needed to do the same, only bigger. The movie will be in theaters starting Wednesday July 15, which means Tuesday night at 11:59pm, be ready to walk into your favorite theater for some Potter!
As we talked about Monday with Star Trek, once a studio knows they’re making money, they want to to try and break some records as well and they need as many bodies as possible, which means as many days as possible for their opening weekend.
Although, this isn’t really a big move for Warner Brothers. They have released a number of their bigger films on Wednesdays. In fact it was somewhat odd that they ever gave the film a Friday release date. Maybe they were just waiting for the buzz to get going. Either way, I don’t care. They sooner I get my Potter fix the better!
What do you think of the news? Are you happy they’ve moved up the dates? Or still bitter that the film wasn’t released in November?
