The talented writer Michael Chabon (Spider-Man 2) has admitted to working on revisions for Disney’s adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter of Mars. The script for the new film was written by Andrew Stanton (Wall-E, Finding Nemo) and Mark Andrews. Chabon has described it as “a dream come true for me”. Chabon is lending his hand to the revisions of the script before it goes into production. The movie is rumored to have already entered the production and casting phase. But despite the rumors, this movie is definitely on its way.

To be honest, I’ve never read the John Carter of Mars series, so I can’t be super jazzed about hearing this, but I am a fan of any and all Pixar movies. Even before Chabon even entered the picture, the two writers on this movie are incredible. This just makes this movie seem a little more promising.

For those who don’t know who Michael Chabon is, you can read about him here. The novel that started his career, “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh,” has recently been adapted for the big screen.

What do you think? Are you excited to hear this? Are you a fan of Michael Chabon? Are you a fan of Edgar Rice Burroughs?
