Megan Fox is an Angel in Passion Play
By Krystal Clark
When I think of innocence and salvation Megan Fox isn’t the first person that comes to mind. Someone out there must get a “holier than thou” vibe from her because for her next role she’s been cast as an angel. According to THR, Fox will star in the independent drama Passion Play opposite Mickey Rourke. Fox’s character is described as ” a slender beauty with wings who is part of a carnival.” The film will be directed by Mitch Glazer, who also wrote the screenplay.
Rourke’s character will play a down on his luck trumpet player, and Fox will play an angel in 1950′s Los Angeles. Rourke finds some kind of redemption after he saves this “angel” from a gangster. Sources say the film is a “dramatic but heartwarming tale.” Passion Play will mark the directorial debut for Glazer who wrote the screenplays for The Recruit and Scrooged, while Laura Bickford (Traffic, Che) will produce.
This film will mark Rourke’s first post-Wrestler drama, and it seems like he’s trying to stay in line with his previous work. I love Mickey, so I hope he keeps the momentum going with his film choices. As for Megan Fox, I’m just happy she’s expanding to something a little more serious. Even though she was a child actress appearing on the TV series Hope & Faith, a lot of people got their first impression of her from Transformers. Beyond that she has been labeled a sex symbol and that’s it. I hope this role shows some versatility for her careers sake.
Do you think Megan Fox can pull off a role in an indie drama? Do you think she can hold her own opposite Mickey Rourke?

@Krystal I do not. I don't think she can act, she was terrible in transformers and was annoying in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. Granted she was playing a Paris Hilton character so I'll give her benefit of the doubt, but no one wants her in a movie for her brains. She's not the next Kate Winslett or Natalie Portman

Like Robert Downey Jr., when he's on, I think Mickey Rourke is so good that he could act with a doorknob and you'd believe the doorknob was a potato or something. And I think Megan Fox can pull of innocent and sweet. What woman (beautiful or otherwise) can't?
