Official Synopsis: As a handyman at the hotel his father used to own, Skeeter Bronson spends his days changing light bulbs and competing with the hotel’s smarmy manager (Guy Pearce) for the attention of the new owner’s beautiful, hard-partying daughter, Violet. When his sister Wendy asks Skeeter to babysit her kids for a week while she’s out of town, Skeeter entertains his niece and nephew with elaborate, original bedtime stories that transport them to exotic locales, including ancient Greece, the Wild West and outer space. When he tries to help his family by telling one outlandish tale after another, it’s the kids’ unexpected contributions that turn all of their lives upside down.
AND REMEMBER that in order to play:

i guess i wasn't fortunate enough to be told bedtime stories before i went to bed as a kid…
the only stories i heard were when i read books to myself as a little kid.
that makes me sad. i guess this is what happens when you grow up in a different culture. no bedtime stories
i would like this movie just so that i can hear some bedtime stories.

I loved Stone Soup. Too bad I actually didn't like Stone Soup when I tried making it. I knew even then at 5 I would never be a good cook.

I don't remember getting read to specifically until my dad was trying to teach me how to read with a book of fables and short stories in Spanish (which I learned before English). After I learned to read in English, I constantly read all sorts of 80s kiddie lit (those silly Sweet Valley books, etc).
