I’ve scored several set photos from Nicholas Cage‘s upcoming fantasy flick The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. I had no idea what the visual of the film was going to be, but I know I wasn’t expecting Cage to be looking so hobo-chic. Apprentice is loosely based on the Disney animated classic Fantasia which featured Mickey Mouse. In this version Cage plays a contemporary sorcerer who leaves everything in the hands of his apprentice (Jay Barachel) when he goes on a trip. The novice is given several chores and tasks to perform in his absence but uses magic to get a broomstick to do them for him. Things go from good to bad when the inanimate object begins to develop a mind of it’s own.

As you may have noticed the film takes place in modern day Manhattan. This should be interesting. The film co-stars Teresa Palmer and Alfred Molina, and will hit theaters on July 16, 2010.

What do you think of Nicolas Cage’s sorcerer look?
