According to Time Magazine‘s Josh Quittner, who saw the first footage of the film, Avatar pushes the boundaries of 3-D animation like never before.
“I could not tell what was real and what was animated…” says Quittner. Already reported to a budget of about $300 million, it may go without saying that later we will discover the actual budget to have been much higher; this makes it a contender for most expensive movie ever made.
Cameron has a long history of impressing people and sci-fi stories. His catalog includes: Aliens, Terminator, Titanic, etc. Written and directed by Cameron, Avatar tell the futuristic story of an ex-marine that is reluctantly thrown into a mission of conquering a new planet called Pandora.
Starring Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, and Zoe Saldana, we are all still waiting for our turn to see a trailer with some footage of the said 3-D effects. All we have right now is this and it hardly seems fair.
