It’s the middle of March and we have little over a week to get ourselves ready for one of the most anticipated film conventions of the year. ShoWest, an annual distribution and Hollywood expo will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada from March 30 to April 2 and we’ll be covering it from beginning to end. This year’s schedule will be packed with notable event’s including it’s world famous awards banquet that takes place on closing night. Are you interested in seeing what’s in store for this year?

Here is a brief rundown of the schedule of event’s. During the expo you get to see a mixture of the corporate and creative side of the film industry meshed together. One of the many perks of attending the expo are preview screenings. Some of the films on this year’s roster include, More Than a Game, Easy Virtue, The Hurt Locker, Is Anybody There?, Cove, and The Soloist.

In terms of presentations and expositions, there will be plenty of exhibitors trying to catch your eye with their latest space age innovations. If your a tech nerd, Sony, DTS, Qube Cinema Inc., and many more will have booths on the floor for you to visit so you can check out their newest gadgets.

If all that wasn’t enough, on the final night the expo will end with it’s annual awards ceremony that will honor Chris Pine (Male Star of Tomorrow), Zac Efron (Breakthrough Performer of the Year), Sienna Miller (Supporting Actress of the Year), Bradley Cooper (Comedy Star of the Year), and Zack Snyder (Director of the Year). Sir Michael Caine and famed film critic Roger Ebert will both receive specialty awards celebrating their contributions to the industry. Caine will take home the ShoWest Lifetime Achievement Award, while Ebert will receive the Career Achievement in Film Journalism Award. One day I’ll get that award. One day!
