    Although it was a little distracting at first. It really made sense the he would not be clothed-I mean come on he is a superior being…not to mention his body was PERFECT in every way-why not show it off! I wasn't the least bit offended!

    I noticed it, but it was done in the same vein as the comic where every moment he's fully exposed was a moment he was beyond humanity. Sort of a, What shame would a god feel?

    Matt it is a good point to make though because in the comic he's never exposed (like you see it on the page) or he's wearing shorts. So to have some full frontal glowing blue d**k on the screen is a bit distracting, I reckon.

    I loved the blue penis…I mean they always show off woman parts so it was truly a plus to see a penis even it was blue ;) All hail mr. manhattans blue penis

    He should have toned it down some. In the comics it was meant to resemble renaissance art; Take a look at The David, it'd be kind of ridiculous David's dick was like down to his knees, itd be all anyone looked at. If anything it makes him look more human; Why would a god, need something that superficial?

    The penis itself didn't bug me, but they made it like 7 inches longer than it was in the comics. Seemed mildly unnecessary.

    In the end it still doesn't matter. Because while Alan "the douche" Moore designed it off of Michaelangelo's David. Its still a view on what we as humans call perfect. If anything, in the movie, its a view of how a god views himself. He did after all give himself a symbol, kept his six pack, and kept his luminous glow. All these are shown as optional, yet he(Manhattan) decides to show them off.

    If manhattan was so powerful he can shift into any form he likes or have 10 penis's for that matter. But he Stayed in his human. So hes not that god like after all. Just a confused human with lots of power. How sad.

    Did not like it at ALL. And everyone i have spoken to as well about the film felt it didnt need to be there. Men did not enjoy a wang in there face at all……and ladies that went to see it with there husbands felt uncomfortable. Could have made the film without all the nudity, and been a film others would see. Sad waste and loss of morality

    For those who say that it was the only thing they could look at… I say "grow up.. just alittle bit more hun. You'll be fine!" With all the tit shots and pussy shots I think alittle penis on the screen was great! All the naked girls in hollywood and a lone penis shows up.. the movies halt to a stop? Please! =/ really? Not to mention that this guy became so evolved that the human body was nothing to be ashamed of.. is an amazeing thing! I thought that it was cool that he was kind enough to cover it up when he was around mere mortals in the first place! I thought nothing of it really. I thought it made it more realistic. Just one opinion. take it or leave it.

    It was done to push the envelope. They don't show the details of a woman's pus_y, nor is it mature, nore did it add to the story. I think it really made the movie seem terribly cheap and piss poor. It was already all about effects.

    Wow. "Loss of morality"? "Made the movie seem terribly cheap"? You people have got to be kidding me. It's a penis. Not to mention, part of Manhatten's character is his disconnection from humanity, so why the hell would he care about wearing a speedo to please the creatures he can barely relate to?

    Further, there's nothing overtly sexual about a flaccid penis. If that makes you uncomfortable, you've got some deeper issues at work. Grow up, or stick to Disney movies.
