It’s no mystery that Zack Snyder loves the ladies and he loves them naked (preferably with tall leather superhero boats). So before his film Watchmen is released to the public this Friday, he’s announcing his next project. It seems like the WB is happy with what he’s done so far because they’ve already given him $100 million to direct his own screenplay for the 1960s-based action fantasy Sucker Punch.
Snyder has decided to go with an all female cast with this film saying that ”I already did the all-male cast with 300, so I’m doing the opposite end of the spectrum.” There are whispers of Amanda Seyfried in negotiations to play the lead role of Baby Doll. According to EW she would be playing “a young woman who has been committed to an insane asylum and fantasizes about escaping with the help of her fellow inmates, who take on fantastical roles in her mind.”
Sounds like a lot of fun. And I’m guessing Snyder is having a ball casting the rest of the film. Rumor has it that Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone may all be up for roles in the film, but nothing is confirmed yet.
The film is scheduled to begin production in the Fall.
What do you think? Are you excited for this film? Or possibly for the all female cast?
