Sean Penn Want’s a Fair Game
By Krystal Clark
Two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn is already circling a new project and guess what? It’s a drama. According to Variety, the thespian is nearing a deal to star in Fair Game. Penn is being courted to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the husband of a C.I.A. agent who inadvertently compromises his wife’s career. The wife in question is Valerie Plame Wilson whom Penn’s 21 Grams co-star Naomi Watts is set to play. Ambassador Wilson wrote op-ed columns that accused the Bush Administration of falsifying information about weapons of mass destruction to justify their invasion of Iraq.
Doug Liman the man who brought us Mr. and Mrs. Smith is already set to direct, with William Pohland producing. Penn hasn’t signed on officially for the part of the Ambassador, but he’s already established a working relationship with Pohland with the upcoming film,Tree of Life. Pohland produced the feature which stars Penn alongside Brad Pitt.
Fair Game is based off of the memoir of Plame Wilson. The former C.I.A agent left the organization in 2005, and she and her husband filed a civil suit against former Vice-President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Lewis “Scooter” Libby, after she was removed from the agency.

I don't know anything about this story but Penn has been very picky with his movies over the years, and I don't blame him. The character is probably unique and challenging for him, I expect good buzz for this when the time comes.c
