Yesterday, Alex Billington over at FirstShowing.net did an interview with Neal McDonough who plays M. Bison in the film adaptation of Street Fighter. When asked what he was doing next, Neal kind of half-mentioned that he might be playing or would like to play Captain America in Marvel’s upcoming film. The weird part it is, he mentions it but then almost immediately takes it back, and then alludes to the fact that he would like to play it and says “you never know.” What does that mean? His face looks like he wished he hadn’t mentioned it.
He states: “I think it’s time for me to go back to playing some of the really good guys who can get the job done, like Captain America, maybe.” When Alex asks him if this is news, his response makes me think that this is something that has been talked about with studios, but there is nothing definitive yet. So my question is, WTF? Is this news? Perhaps he’s one of a few people being considered? Or perhaps it’s just a dream of his he’s trying to throw out there? I mean, he sure as hell looks the part.
I’m baffled. And his facial expressions don’t really help. Check out the video below and tell us what you think…
I mean, he wouldn’t be a bad fit, he does resemble the character of Captain America. So it’s not completely out of left field. What do you think?
Is this news or just wishful thinking? And would you like to see Neal play Captain America?
