Noah Baumbach the man behind the Academy Award nominated feature The Squid and the Whale is writing and directing a new film entitled Greenberg. According to THR, funnyman Ben Stiller and indie darling Greta Gerwig have been cast to star opposite one another in the relationship dramedy. Gerwig is best known for her roles in the independent feature’s Baghead and Hannah Takes the Stairs.

The project’s logline is being kept under wraps, but it is expected to be set in L.A. and center on relationship intimacies in the manner of past Baumbach pictures

Over at Production Weekly, they stated that Jennifer Jason Leigh will also co-star in the film. Unfortunately, there’s no word on what role she”ll be playing, everything is very hush hush at this point. Greenberg is being produced by Scott Rudin and distributed and financed by Focus Features. Filming is expected to begin in March.

This summer, Ben Stiller reprises his role as Larry Daley in the sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. The film opens nationwide on May 22.
