This is laziness, sheer laziness! According to THR, Warner Brothers Studios is in the process of rebooting the Tomb Raider movie franchise. The first two films were produced and distributed through Paramount and starred Angelina Jolie as the lead. Producer Dan Lin is in early development talks to get the revamp off the ground, but this time with the WB behind it. Lin is already one of the producing forces behind the Guy Ritchie film, Sherlock Holmes, and the upcoming Johnny Quest.

An actress isn’t currently attached to the project, even though there were rumors that Transformers star Megan Fox would star. Casting for a lead is expected to take place some time this fall or winter, after a director has been found.

I’m sorry but we’re remaking movies that have been produced in the same decade now? Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was released in 2001 and it’s sequel The Cradle of Life in 2003. Were those two really that great? Are there countless fans on the edge of their seat for some archeological action? I saw both films and my most vivid memory of the first one, had to do with me falling asleep in the theater.

How do you feel about the Tomb Raider reboot? Yay or nay?
