Hilary Duff is Bonnie Parker

I’m not sure what to make of this current casting development. According to Variety, former Disney teen queen, Hilary Duff has signed on to star as the legendary bank robber Bonnie Parker. Oh no, another classic remade, and with a Disney star! I know, I can’t picture it either, but the film’s producers are pressing the notion that this is not a remake, but a “retelling” of the infamous couple’s story. The actress will star in the independently financed project entitled, The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Duff will be joined by another former child star, Kevin Zegers in the role of Clyde Barrow. The 24 year old actor is best known for his portrayal as the teen, prostitute son of Felicity Huffman in Transamerica (above). When he was younger, Zeger’s starred in the children’s movie series Air Bud, and was also featured in Zack Snyder’s 2004 remake, Dawn of the Dead.
Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family’s property.
Is this going to be a serious drama? I’ve seen Zegers pull off some intense material, but this will be foreign territory for Miss Duff. The movie will be filmed on location in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, so at least their staying true to the historical backdrop.

She might prove herself with this one… I hope she does… she seems like a smart girl who's condemned for her happy, optimistic personality… sure, she'll have to work hard to give the grit of Bonnie but this girl seems smart- so who's to say she can't do it… someone obviously believes she can or she wouldn't have been offered the part… Looking forward to seeing her in it…
Though my first choice would have been Portman, despite the hair color… or even

I'm just a bit worried about Hillary playing Bonnie…like I want her to do a good job, but I just can't picture her as Bonnie. Bonnie Parker already has her terrible reputation, I think Hillary will only ruin it further. (Absolutely no offense to Hillary)

I don't like it at all. Nobody can ever portray the real Bonnie Parker. Faye Dunaway did a good job. There is only one Real Bonnie and Clyde. Get your facts straight, read some of the historical truth. This all is just a trendy thing now. Posers

I think duff is going to suck she doesn't even look like bonnie her acting sucks as well she doesn't do well in portraying other people. When she does foreign accents it sounds all fake I don't want to see her as the one portraying bonnie parker I'd rather see a real actress who call pull it off better.

I don't think duff can pull it off I've seen her act in movies and she doesn't do a very good job on the charter she plays. I think she needs an acting coach if she wants to keep pursuing her acting career. I would like to see someone else portray bonnie than duff she doesn't even look like bonnie anyways. She maybe 5'1 but her body shape is NOT compariable to bonnies. She so amateur when it comes her acting for someone who so pretty sure doesn't know how to use in front of camera I think if your going to be behind camera and do acting make sure you do it well. I hate watching a movie and seeing crappy actors. Why do they go to choose her? I wish they go fo somebody else she really not my choice for anything.

No way!!!! Hilary is too bubblegum pop to play Bonnie, and even though Faye and Warren didn't strike me as serious robbers in the film, they made it work, they seemed so IN LoVE (check out the end of Bonnie and Clyde b4 they get shot. They gave eachother a loving look! Aww….) I also think Duff can't pull off the cute berets Faye wore in the film.

im so pist of, hilary ca not act, she's not a bad person and im not dissing her personality, she's a good girl, but she can't act, i have tried to wacth a movie of hers, i cant finish i cant watch it, as soon as it start i have to change the channel, she's not believeable, in war inc what the fuck i just a scene with her in ti, she's trying to be a sexy bad girl, she sucks, i just don't believe her, im still suprise she still has a job, she can't act, and i hate the fucking director for trying to ruin a good movie a clssic, she says is not the same but from the pictures i have seen it looks the same, hilary as an actress sucks, period.
