Stallone Get’s Ripped for ‘The Expendables’

“Just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in!”  That’s what I screamed to the heaven’s when I came across some more Sylvester Stallone, Expendables news.  I am convinced that the “Italian Stallion” is putting together the biggest homage to the eighties action genre that we’ve ever seen. With a cast that boasts of Academy Award and Golden Globe winners, Forest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley, and Mickey Rourke, plus action icons Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture, and Jason Statham, it looks as if The Expendables is going to be epic.

Stallone has been hitting the gym to get in shape for his role as a mercenary, and boy does he look deadly. Check out  Stallone’s new physique courtesy of AICN, after the jump.

OK, is it just me or is he on Rocky IV status with his body right now? Stallone is 62 years old, and he’s looking better than guys more than half his age. Let’s hope he’s getting this result with good old fashioned diet and exercise, because we know what’s happened in the past *cough steroids cough*.

The Expendables is written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, and begins production next month. The film is set for release next year,so let’s hope their aiming for the summer blockbuster season, woo hoo!
