Hudgens Up for Role in ‘New Moon’

Current Disney teen queen, Vanessa Hudgens may be on the right track to shedding her High School Musical image. For starters, Hudgens has been rumored to star in the Twilight sequel New Moon as the werewolf character Leah Clearwater. At first this was all speculation, and people were just tossing around the idea, but now according to MTV,the actress has taken the necessary steps to make the role hers!

MTV ran into Twilight co-star Ashley Greene last night at a Golden Globes after party, and the actress confirmed that Hudgens has indeed auditioned for the role. Greene went on to compliment the actress, by stating ” I think she’d be great.”

Now, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the Leah Clearwater character, she’s a bit of a b*tch. There’s no better way to put it. She’s good friends with Jacob (Taylor Lautner), and as I stated before she’s a werewolf. This could be a good transition for Hudgens, being that the audience demographic of HSM, and Twilight are similar.

Nothing has been officially confirmed on this casting, but I”ll keep my Mickey Mouse ears to the streets!
