I would say that I have to agree with you for the most part… I just heard about this movie and am absolutely disgusted at it.. they aren't really using the better characters in the films.. I mean let's face it.. When you think Street Fighter at all you immediately think Ken and Ryu (or at least I do). It wasn’t the greatest game in the world.. But it was fun enough to burn a pound or two of quarters on back in the day.. Still the whole game originated with Ken and Ryu.. I mean they are the heart of the whole thing.. But hey.. here is what these morons had to say on it…

Now I can understand not being able to use all of the characters in the game.. But the excuse they use is probably the most moronic I have ever heard… I mean in X-Men.. Did they leave out Cyclops? Jean Grey? Wolverine? Uhhhhh NOOOO! Because they are such important characters in the storyline.. Imagine watching one X-Men movie without Wolverine… It would just suck..

My point being.. It just seems to me like its going to be a cheap run off movie trying to get some ticket sales off of a little T&A by using Chun Li.. I mean yeah she was cool and all.. But not by far the most crucial character in the universe.. Why else would they have chosen her?

If guys want to see T&A they will go and watch themselves a good porn. I doubt anyone is going to go and pay to see another low rate tough-chick fight movie.. There have been way too many storied butchered already due to this cheap way to grab more ticket sales.. And if this is what they plan.. They had better try a little harder at selling their T&A…

I for one will not be wasting my money on the garbage…

I’m gonna let a far more qualified man, our Producer Patrick Aiello take a crack at this one. Afterall, he had a hand in the decision:

PATRICK: “Justin, Ashok and Capcom got together and decided to make it more of an origin story for Chun Li. There are just way too many characters in the Street Fighter universe to cram them all into one film. We want to do each one the justice he/she deserves. So, in short, Ken and Ryu will not be appearing in this film. But, that doesn’t mean we wont see our red and white-clad heroes in potential sequels…”

So there ya have it fight fans. Your suspicions are confirmed. No Ken and Ryu. But before you get all misty-eyed, lets talk a bit about a little trilogy called X-Men. Nightcrawler, Pyro and Beast– all major characters in the X-Men universe– didn’t show up till the sequels, and Gambit, well he never showed up at all.
