The Dark Knight Sweeps the People’s Choice Awards

Last night, at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards,  The Dark Knight swept the competition by winning in every single category it was nominated. The film racked up five awards, which included Favorite Cast, Favorite Superhero, Favorite Action Movie,  Favorite Movie, and Favorite On Screen Match-up for Christian Bale and Heath Ledger.  All five awards were presented simultaneously, and Batman himself was on hand to receive them.  “On behalf of all of the cast from the movie, thank you very much to the fans,” said Bale. “Here’s to Heath.”

Another fan favorite was Reese Witherspoon, who was voted Favorite Female Movie Star. When accepting her award, she referenced her 2005 Oscar win for Walk the Line stating, “A couple years ago, I won a great award for singing in a movie. This year, I won an award for having a baby throw up on me.”

The event was once again hosted by actress Queen Latifah, who co-starred in one of the nights big winners, The Secret Life of Bees.
