Interview: Anjelica Huston of CHOKE

Friday, September 26, 2008 2:31PM - By

anjelicahuston08 09 26 Interview: Anjelica Huston of CHOKEWith so much import put on sex and women in Choke, there are surprisingly few female cast members to interview. Well we’ve heard from the director/writer/actor Clark Gregg, we’ve heard from the novelist Chuck Palahniuk, and from the star of the film Sam Rockwell and his co-star Brad William Henke, now it’s time for to let the lady of the hour take the throne.

Anjelica Huston, has been acting since the 70′s and she’s still breaking new ground with every film she makes. She’s known for giving some of our favorite villains hearts and in Choke she is no different. At moments you hate her, but god do you always sympathize with her. All of her characters are as young and vibrant as ever, and after meeting her it’s no surprise. The woman seems ageless, she’s as knowledgeable as a grandma, but as young and open as a child, and looks easily 10 years her junior. I had the honor to sit down and talk with Huston about her long career as an actor, her first impressions of Choke, and even a bit of Wes Anderson insight. So without further ado, Anjelica Huston…

Review: Eagle Eye

Friday, September 26, 2008 1:03PM - By

2799729825 a850c17e2a 154x240 Review: Eagle EyeHold on to your hats Summer Blockbuster fans, because just before the race to Oscar season starts to heat up, Hollywood is lobbing one final slam/bam explosion filled grenade at us. This one goes by the name of Eagle Eye and trust me, it’s a doozy. I’d like to be a responsible film critic and give you a short synopsis without giving to much away, but Eagle Eye borrows from so many films it’s hard to know where to begin. So please accept this tiny spoiler alert instead.

The Government is in danger of itself, only they don’t know it yet, and by the time they manage to figure it out, well, lets just say it’s going to be way to late. Through a strange twist of fate involving the most evil computer program you can think of, two characters portrayed by (Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan) are tasked with saving the day. Problem is, he’s wanted for a possible terrorist activity and she’s worried that her son won’t make it to brand practice on time. FBI investigator (Billy Bob Thorton) is hot on their trail, and nipping closely at his heels is an Air Force OSI officer, courtesy of (Rosario Dawson). Throw in an sound sensitive exotic gemstone that has the ability to blow up large areas of space and people, and there you have it.

DreamWorks Decides to Go It Alone

Friday, September 26, 2008 12:18PM - By

dreamworks08 09 27 340x211 DreamWorks Decides to Go It Alone Apparently not everyone is getting along so well in movie world. Less than a week ago. Less than a week ago DreamWorks stated that they had made a deal with one of India’s largest entertainment conglomo’s and they they would be taking their $1.2 billion and starting their own company away from Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures.  they’d be going it alone and now the Weinstein brothers are following.

Less than a week since DreamWorks announced that they would be going it on their own without their distribution partner Paramount, The Weinstein Co. and MGM have cut short their distribution deal three months earlier than the original three-year contract, which was scheduled to expire on December 31. Harvey and Bob Weinstein’s company will take back seven movies to release between now and the end of the year including Kevin Smith’s upcoming Zack and Miri Make a Porno (October 31) and the anticipated adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road (November 14). MGM will still distribute the two planned Dimension Films releases, the comedy Soul Men (November 7) with Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac and Forest Whitaker’s sports drama Hurricane Season (December 25).

YouTube Partnership Program: The Easiest Money You’ll Ever Make

youtube logo2 YouTube Partnership Program: The Easiest Money You’ll Ever Make

There is a video uploaded on YouTube that, contrary to the title which suggests I’m in store for “extreme funny,” turns out to be five minutes and fifty-seven seconds of the lamest footage I’ve ever seen. Kitti1 and I apparently have very different views of what constitutes as funny, because in my book two magicians dressed in parkas and Adidas track pants doing the routine I preformed for my dolls in 2nd grade does not equal funny. Luckily, what I think is irrelevant because I just spent five minutes and fifty-seven seconds waiting to laugh and, more importantly, upping this video’s views from 27,399,672 to 27,399,673. This is why Kitti1can shake my hateration off; he (or she) is sitting on a goldmine, and I am not.

Movie Releases: Choke, The Lucky Ones, Eagle Eye

Friday, September 26, 2008 10:18AM - By

chokeshot08 09 26 276x240 Movie Releases: Choke, The Lucky Ones, Eagle EyeA lot of film’s to choose from. Don’t everyone run out to Nights in Rodanthe at once! And I know you’re all going to see Eagle Eye no matter what I say, so on with your bad selves. Personally, I think the two best films to choose from are Choke or The Lucky Ones. At least you’re assured good acting in both and with Choke you’re guaranteed a good story as well (Choke interviews here: Chuck Palahniuk, Clark Gregg, Sam Rockwell, and Brad William Henke). Smother with Diane Keaton and Liv Tyler looks like it might be a bit of fun. As for the rest of them, nothing really gets me too excited, what about you?

Here are this weeks movie releases with cast and crew information, reviews, ticket info, and trailers. Enjoy! Continue Reading

Franchise News: I Am Legend (Again), Pirates 4, Another Joker

Friday, September 26, 2008 9:29AM - By

moneyshot08 09 26 320x240 Franchise News: I Am Legend (Again), Pirates 4, Another JokerI Am Legend -1: Variety has just confirmed that the I Am Legend crew will be gearing up to make a prequel to the original film, which will cover the final days of humanity before Neville is left alone. If that one gets anywhere near the $584 million that the first one drug in than I’m sure that we’ll be seeing a what happened next where somehow Will Smith survived the ending of the first.

Pirates 4: They’re sure milking this one for everything it’s worth. I guess when they’ve made a total of $2,794,366,513, they just don’t feel like they’ve quite got everything they could. So, they’re doing another! Variety reports that Johnny Depp has finally agreed to a fourth film. Is there really anything left to cover?
