I think this looks amazing. I can’t wait. Although I do think that this film coming out right before one of the biggest elections of our time is quite interesting. Do you think this will cause voters to be swayed one way to the other for the upcoming election? Will this build empathy for Bush? Or give more reasons to laugh and point? Or both?

Oh uh. What will American’s do if they think that they’re not the most important people in the world that have first dibs on anything and everything?
Well, we’re about to find out. This Bond franchise is breaking a number of traditions. Aside from the lack of “Bond. James Bond” they have just announced that they will releasing the new film Quantum of Solace in India TWO weeks before the US.
What!?! It’s like taking candy away from a spoiled toddler. It’s one thing that the the UK gets it a week before us, but India?
They’ve moved the releases date back to November 14th in the US, since Mr. Potter moved to summer 2009, but they are continuing to open the film on November 7th in India and October 31st in the UK (Halloween never really ever made it across the pond).
Since when does Hollywood come third? Sign of the times?

The genre of independent film never ceases to amaze me. The following highlights significant films that have been newly released for your viewing pleasure.
2 Days in Paris -Written and directed by Julie Delpy, 2 Days in Paris follows Marion (Delpy) a French photographer and her American boyfriend Jack (Adam Goldberg) as they try to salvage their relationship, while navigating the social circles Marion left behind and her parents, played by Delpy’s real-life parents Albert Delpy and Marie Pillet. The film takes a few ups and downs, but always manages to stay interesting and amazingly funny, I might add. When you plop an American in a foreign country, hilarity is always bound to ensue. Noteworthy Quote: “There’s a moment in life where you can’t recover any more from another break-up. And even if this person bugs you 60 percent of the time, well you still can’t live without him. And even if he wakes you up every day by sneezing right in your face, well you love his sneezes more than anyone else’s kisses.”

It’s now official, the action sequences will be bigger, better, and even MORE expensive than they were before. It has just been announced that Michael Bay will use IMAX cameras to shoot select scenes in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, just to give it that little something extra.
IMAX Corporation, DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures today announced that director Michael Bay will shoot key sequences of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with IMAX® cameras. Bay will integrate the IMAX footage with state of the art CGI to create an unprecedented look and feel for the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s box office hit, Transformers. As previously announced, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released to IMAX® theatres simultaneously with the movie’s wide release on June 26, 2009.

Wanna live like Bond? Well, maybe a mini bond…Sony Electronics has just announced a promotion for the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace, where they will be giving away one million dollars in their “Missions for a Million” competition. Sony believes that their dedication to HD products apparently works quite well with the Bond theme, has stated “The film’s anticipated arrival is a perfect opportunity to tell Sony’s high-definition story to consumers in an interactive way.”
Yeah, yeah, the competition officially starts today and runs until November 7th, so we better give you the details stat.
I happen to be a fan of films that leave an aftertaste. The kind that don’t just stun and surprise me in the moment, with no kernel of truth to leave me thinking for days. If you are like me, and value films for their story line, their insight into the self or a world unknown, then the following films will surely move you. With the theme of love (or a lack of) in Nights and Weekends, to the life story of an icon of the LGBT community in Milk; this list appeals to a variety of tastes. Make a note of the release dates, and enjoy the trailers!

Paul Newman’s journalistic wake will most likely be saturated with punny titles incorporating his most famous films. “The Hustler’s Last Hustle”, “Hollywood’s Cool Hand”, etc etc. I’ll try to restrain myself from doing this. I also don’t think it will do much good to speculate about what a nice man he was, although he seemed like a HELL of a nice guy. He played a badass on more than one occasion, but he stayed married to the same woman (Joanne Woodward) his entire life, did some humanitarian work and made some damn good lemonade in the process.
