Clive Owen’s back! It’s been a while since we’ve seen the brooding actor in reputable leading role (Shoot’em Up), but I knew he would return with something good. According to THR, Owen has signed on to star in Cartagena. Its a film about an undercover agent who delves into the world of Colombian drug trafficking. Cartagena will be co-produced by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, whom previously served as executive producer to George Clooney’s Oscar winning vehicle, Good Night, and Good Luck.
More on Cartagena after the jump.
“Cartagena” centers on an undercover agent who gets caught in a complex plot and must elude drug dealers and international agents if he hopes to survive. The project is named for a city on Colombia’s northern coast that has a colorful history featuring wars, robust economic activity and tourist development.
Sounds like a decent backdrop, but I need to know more. If I could only get my hands on the script for final approval!
