News: Dark Knight and Ledger Win Austin Film Festival
By Mali Elfman
Well, here comes some more awards for The Dark Knight. According to Variety, The Austin Film Critics Association has named The Dark Knight best picture and Heath Ledger as the best supporting actor. And that’s not all. The film earned five awards, including best director for Christopher Nolan, best adapted screenplay by Jonthan Nolan & Christopher Nolan, and best original score by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmerman.
Other awards went to Sean Penn for Milk, Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married, Taraji P. Henson for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and even Danny McBride for his work in Pineapple Express, The Foot Fist Way and Tropic Thunder. Who knew Austin was so opened minded!
Although it seems to me for many of the categories they went for the most popular and not necessarily the “best.” What do you think?
