dark knight rooftop NEWS: Batmans Back for Oscar Contention

Just last month, news broke that The Dark Knight was denied Oscar contention for Best Score due to 5 names being credited for its authorship. This is over the limit for what is allowed, hence the Oscar denial. But don’t fret, there is good news to report. According to Variety, the decision has been reversed, and now TDK is back in the running.

After reviewing information submitted by the affected parties, the committee concluded that two, Zimmer and Howard, were responsible for the score’s authorship.

I’m happy that they found some loophole for this. The music was an essential part of the films backdrop, and was beautifully composed. When I first heard about the initial rejection of the score, I was knee deep in conspiracy theories. This change does makes me feel better, but I’ve still got my eye on you Academy.
