NEWS: Warner Brothers Wants ‘Blood’

Move over Pirates of the Caribbean, another swashbuckling film is about to hit the high seas! According to FirstShowing.net, Warner Brothers has acquired the rights to Captain Blood! It’s going to be a remake (what a surprise) of the 1935 film of the same name. The original starred legendary actors Errol Flynn, and Olivia de Havilland.

Phillip Noyce, of Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and Catch a Fire, is set to direct and John Brownlow, of Sylvia and quite a few in-development projects, will write the screenplay. The original film, set in the 1600s, told the the story of a doctor who was convicted of treason and sold into slavery before he escaped to the high seas as a pirate.

I really don’t know what to say about this. I love Olivia de Havilland, and Errol Flynn. I hope they don’t butcher this.
