Starring: Will Smith, Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron

There’s nothing more frustrating that a wasted premise, and this movie might be the most frustrating of them all. What a great idea! An alcoholic and depressed superhero that everybody hates.Seems like a perfect vehicle for an action comedy, precisely what this movie is for about 15 minutes until it becomes a ridiculous piece of melodrama.

Sure it’s frustrating to watch a good movie turn into dreck, but it’s far more maddening when that dreck ruins a brilliant idea. Now we’ll never get to see a movie about a wino crusader made the right way, because it will just be thought of as a rip-off.It’s such a shame. When you come up with an incredible premise like the creators of “Hancock” did, you should do everything in your power to ensure you don’t screw it up.You can share in the frustration in one of three ways: A bare-bones edition, an unrated edition and a two-disc unrated edition.

“Fred Claus”

Starring: Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, John Michael Higgins and Rachel Weisz

Speaking of wasted premises, didn’t everybody think this was going to be an R-Rated comedy when they saw the teaser trailer? What a perfect vehicle for that – Santa’s ne’er-do-well brother played by the motor-mouthed Vaughn causing trouble for the always perfectly cranky Giamatti.Should have been comedy gold.

Sure they churned out a nice kiddie flick, but can anyone over the age of fifteen watch this movie and not wish the special edition DVD contained an R-Rated cut of the film we were all expecting?

“Beverly Hills, 90210”

Hopefully this isn’t you, but many people have tried to relive the nostalgia of this perfectly campy 90s series by actually, ya know, watching its dismal follow-up “90210”.Now Brandon, Brenda, Kelly, Luke and the rest of the Peach Pit gang can come back into your lives with this six season pack. It’s strange, “90210” is so bad, that somehow its predecessor still seems more relevant.

What does crystal meth plus snow equal?Apparently two hours of terror if you want to believe this thriller about a pair of tweakers who decide to drive home in a blizzard.Sadly for them, they crash and are forced to deal with elements as well as the myriad horrors that await them on such a cold night. What could be scarier?
