Downey has had a sorted history in Hollywood sprinkled with highs and lows. He has been in and out of the limelight for the past few years, but in 2008 he made his move. With the critical and commercial successes of both Iron Man and Tropic Thunder, Downey has shown that he still has what it takes to get people in theaters. He’s already signed on to reprise his role as Tony Stark in Iron Man 2, and The Avengers, plus he is currently filming Guy Ritchies’ Sherlock Holmes, where he is playing the title role. By making us laugh, and keeping us on the edge of our seats this year, Robert Downey Jr. has earned this title fair and square.
