Am I the only one who has been waiting for a passionate plot surrounding literature? The love of books evolving into a love between two individuals? I would assume not. For those who have let this wish gather dust in the alleys of their hopes, the wait is over.

The Reader, starring Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes, is the story of a teenager, Michael (Ralph Fiennes), and middle aged woman, Hanna (Kate Winslet), in post WWII Germany. After Hanna helps Michael one day, he seeks her out to thank her, and a passionate affair ensues. He loves to read, and she loves to be read to. And, really, there is nothing else to say.

This film looks like a promising adaptation of the German novel. What less can a person expect from a novel that has been translated into thirty-nine languages?
