I think that it's so hard to decipher where the line is between being a celebrity with a private life and being just another person with a private life. Part of your job as being a teen or 'tween' star does involve taking on the responsibility of being a role model. Should we be scolding Dakota Fanning for taking on a mature role? Absolutely not. Should we scold Miley Cyrus for having a boyfriend five years her senior? Odd, but not really our concern. But when it comes to such situations as Vanessa Hudgens sending out naked pictures of herself on the internet when she should be fully aware that a) she is public figure, b) she has millions of young fans, and c) the internet is not a safe place for that type of gift for your boyfriend. The line should be drawn when it comes to making choices which would are part of acting one's own age or, in some cases, of acting more mature than one's own age. Dakota's choice to take on a the 'Hounddog' role is one of maturity. Miley may be dating someone older than her, a situation some may find this somewhat inappropriate, but at least she isn't wildly partying with him. In fact the latest pictures of them were at Disneyworld for her birthday, an appropriate place to be on one's 16th birthday. But sending nude pictures of oneself to a boyfriend via the internet at 17 is not really appropriate for anyone of that age, let alone someone is known by millions of young stars around the world as the wholesome star of musicals.
I guess what I am trying to say is that teen stars should not make choices within their private lives that ANY teen would not made public. Other than that, we should leave them to lead their lives, without us judging their every move.
