No Fright Night, no Near Dark?

I'm of the opinion vampires started to suck when "Interview with the Vampire" came out. Foppish, frilly-shirted emo vampires. Without such crapola, we'd have no "Twilight". And the world would be a better place for everyone, except fat goth girls.

Best vampire movie ever: Romero’s Martin; followed closely by Dreyer’s Vampyr (and Herzog’s Noseferatu is pretty fantastic too)

plus no’s 2 and 3 do, in fact, suck harder than a vampire with no fangs.
