Wow there are a LOT of films coming out this week, ranging from religious satire to Chihuahua films. You’ve got a lot comedies to choose from. Let’s start with, An American Carol, a film dedicated entirely to spoofing Michael Moore, then Religulous, with Bill Maher interviewing Jesus about… well Jesus, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, goes in the same category as Ghost Town, great UK actor in an okay US film. Then there’s Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, which is simple and well done (can’t ask for much more). Lastly, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which has actually been getting a lot of great reviews. Great for the kids or if you’re looking to just have a fun time and eat your popcorn. Who am I to judge?

If you’re looking for a story about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, you’ve got two great picks, Flash of Genius (Greg Kinnear and Lauren Graham interviews)or The Express. Both films have won many awards at film festivals and will give you something to care about for 90ish minutes. Rachel Getting Married is getting a lot of Oscar buzz for Anne Halloway (interview here), so that might be worth a gander. Lastly, Ballast, which I know very little about has been winning awards everywhere. Your call!
