hellboy08-07-10Well it’s a hell of a week. Get it hell? Hellboy? Hellboy II: The Golden Army? OK, yeah that was really bad, but luckily the film is anything but. That is definitely my pick for the week. Although I love Brendan Fraser, I’m a bit skeptical of Journey to the Center of the Earth, which looks like Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and a bit of slapstick comedy all tied into one. For those of you looking for a good comedy to lighten your weekend, your choices are Harold, which basically states if you’re bald at 13 you’re fucked or Meet Dave which may have a few laughs, but it looks like an extra long SNL skit. If you’re looking for a good indie movie, you’ve got a couple to choice from. Ellen Page and Ellen Burstyn are both in The Stone Angel, that’s enough for me. Death Defying Acts, with Catherine Zeta Jones and Guy Pearce (yummy) has completely managed to fly under the radar but is worth your time. Lastly, Garden Party, which I’m on the fence about. You tell me.

So here is your weekend movie releases with cast and crew information, reviews, LA.CityZine interviews, tickets and showtimes, and of course trailers! Enjoy…
